What I'm working on
Last updated 1 September 2026. This page is deliberately short and goes stale on purpose — if the date is old, so is the answer.
Building
- The research system behind the channels — sources in, a daily brief out, and a queue that decides what becomes an episode. It has been running for a month. Most of this month's work is making it reliable enough to lean on.
- A hex-tile board that sits behind me on stream, so the thing I'm talking about is on the wall instead of in a slide. Seventy-one cards; fourteen have art so far, and I'm doing one a day.
- Writer's Codex — the app I built to write the book in. Thirteen reference packs finished in August; it's open source and you can click through a full example world without signing up for anything.
- Backups, keys and accounts. Unglamorous, and the reason the rest of this survives a dead hard drive.
Publishing
- Essays, when one is finished. Two are up. This is the only thing on this page that has actually shipped to an audience.
- Streams are built but not started. I research in public when I'm working, and that will become a real cadence once the board and the pipeline are done — not before, and I'd rather be late than fake it.
- No newsletter yet. When issue one exists there'll be a way to subscribe on this site, and not until then.
Reading and chasing
- Long-duration life support, and what closes the loop and what doesn't.
- The gap between autism research and autistic daily life.
- The next chapters of the book.
