What these two numbers are

K is humanity on Sagan’s interpolation of the Kardashev scale, driven by total primary energy supply (TES, physical-energy-content method). It barely moves in a lifetime. That is the point. The counter is electricity generation only — the part of the system being rebuilt in public. It is labelled MODEL because there is no live global meter; it is last year’s generation grown at a stated rate.
